For a long time the world has been looking to the United States of America to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. This did not happen during the bush administration. As its termĀ drew to an end, the world hoped that the next President to the Unites States would be more willing to particitipate in global climate change agreements. During the election campaigns,Obama did not hesitate to voice out his opinion on climate change issues. This gave the world a hope that should Barack Obama be elected as president he will initiate change. The big day came on January 20, 2009, the day when Obama took the oath. And now the world is looking to see what he will do with regards to climate change. |
